Community Resources Day
One key goal is to help Austinites who face the greatest challenges. Each year we hold Community Resources Day to address food access, health and wellness, and job readiness.
Community partners run a fresh-food drive providing fruits and vegetables for 400–500 Austin families. They also offer a Health & Wellness Day (vital checks, women’s and men’s health, mental health, fitness, screenings, nutrition, and free HIV/sexual-health testing) and a Workforce Job Readiness & Work-Based Learning Symposium (resume help, financial literacy, job prep, on-the-spot training referrals, soft skills, and interview practice).
Transit partners (Cap Metro and Austin Transit Partnership) give community updates on transit projects and light rail.
